From the revolting sewers of the New Jersey suburbs emerges: Big Chungus.

Forged in the Earth's easy-bake-oven of an underbelly this Winter (climate change is fake news), Chungus was born ala a snotty Voltron. Except, instead of being the combination of a bunch of robotic lions, it was more like an overheated grotesque orgy of flushed anti-depressants, leftover booze, human-waste-gunked bath tissues, Lumpy Records singles, and pizza crust.

Following its formation, defying all of the odds of the natural world, somehow, someway, this abomination was imbibed with conscious thought. And yet, knowingly being the firstborn of its species, instead of working to become a creature defense lawyer or something dignified, it decided to pursue playing punk music.

After hearing and following the horrid echoes of other Wet Cassettes artists in the subterranean, Chungus headed aboveground and secretly took up residence in the basement of the WC headquarters. It began learning Ableton Live, and writing and recording songs, when the homeowners were out to work because, believe it or not, this label doesn't pay the bills.

What Big Chungus witnessed in its short time with humans, and in their shadows, thus far is reflected in this six-song self-titled debut EP. Touching and profound anecdotes about animal bowel movements, drinking too much, meme culture, and other inside jokes, are all smashed up against drum machines, shredding synths, grinding bass, and somehow, sort of catchy melodies.

Overall, Big Chungus is here to teach humanity that in our short time above ground, we shouldn't be taking anything too seriously.
