It's only human to wonder what comes after the moment in which you are currently involved. Like, what happens post-party? Post-election? Post...punk?

In this case, the initial surge of angsty teens playing as fast as they could ended up giving way to a stark sadness and uncertainty that only one growing up in the late 70s and 80s could have felt. Dancing in the darkness where only love could tear them apart.

And listen- when it comes to post-punk, we know we aren’t the end-all, be-all authority on the music, the image, or the history. BUT when we first heard "Early Onset" - the new album from Portland, Oregon's BLISTER- we knew that this was THE sound. A sound that harkens back to the originators of the genre, but brings a modern perspective to the uncertainty and perpetual darkness that simply being alive in 2022 brings with it.

Spooky synths and haunting vocals? Check. Chorus kissed guitar leads and beats that make you want to push-pit and/or shake that ass? Check. A general sense of uneasiness and grime covers it all sonically and visually? Checkmate.

The ten burners that make up this album have barely left our playlists since we first heard them months ago and we hope that they infect your ears and being just as they did us. Make sure to follow BLISTER as they scorch the west coast, or what’s left of it, in the weeks and months to come.
